Day 270 – Overnight train from Chumphon to Bangkok

It’s our last day on the islands in the south of Thailand before heading to Bangkok, which would involve a number of transportation methods. We started the day with a fry up!

We started on the back of a jeep which took us to the jetty for the boat. The boat took us to Chumphon on the mainland where we would be able to get the overnight train to Bangkok. The train was delayed by around an hour. However outside the station there were some restaurants and a chance eat and drink before the ride.

We picked the second class sleeper section with fans over the first class with air conditioning. We were told that the first class section was really cold with the air con on all night. The second class turned out to be fine!
