Day 265 – Overnight sleeper boat to Koh Phangan

We took it easy today and spent the day reading and chilling out at the hostel before catching our bus to get the overnight sleeper boat to Koh Phangan, best known for its full moon parties. Due to our schedule, we would be visiting the island during a quiet period without a full moon party.

In the late afternoon, a private car picked us up from the hostel and took us to the bus station. The bus then took us to the port where we had a good few hours to kill before the boat left. There was a little food market right by the port, so we ordered some boiled chicken and rice for dinner.

Around 10pm, we were able to board the boat where we had been allocated bed numbers. The boat was large and there were little mattresses laid out right next to each other. Luckily, with it being out of season, the boat was pretty empty and we had a fair amount of room though I could imagine it could get quit cramped during the peak season.

Once, on the boat, they were quick to switch the lights off and we dozed off pretty quickly.
