We’ve been in Thailand for over a week now and we’ve still not had a famous Thai massage. There are a million options for Thai massages along the beach, all offering an hour of massage for 250 baht (about £5). So after breakfast, we headed to the one nearest to us on the beach.
We asked for a full body massage each. It was very relaxing. The ladies jumped on top and massaged our feet, legs, bum, back, arms, neck and head. It was actually a bit softer than I thought it would be until I saw John’s lady go a bit mental and started pulling him in all directions complimented with loud cracks! He seemed to be a bit of pain. I couldn’t stop laughing! Maybe I’m used to strong massages or maybe they gave me the “western” version?! Who knows. It was still very relaxing. I’m sure we’ll be having a few more before leaving the country.
After the massage, the ladies gave me a little bracelet with flowers on. It was really cute. Then I had to explain to them that I was Chinese but born in England as they thought that I was Malaysian – a conversation which is getting quite well rehearsed.
After the massage, we spent some time on the beach, swimming the sea. For lunch, we ate at a very cheap road side stall and in the afternoon there was a massive downpour so we spent a bit of time reading in the reception area of where we were staying. We also managed to book a snorkelling tour for tomorrow which should be good!
In the evening, we found a nice seafood stall and ate barracuda!
