We’re back on the road and heading back down south. We’ve picked up another relocation campervan and we’ve got three days to get to Brisbane where we’ll stay and spend Christmas with my friend James and his girlfriend Cathy.
Our relocation campervan was with Awesome Campers and perhaps we’ve been spoilt but this was the worse campervan we’ve had so far. It was basically our Jucy campervan that we had in New Zealand for three weeks except it was older and the facilities in the boot were a bit more basic. It didn’t even have a fridge and instead they gave us just a coolbox! Perhaps we’ve been spoilt with our luxury 4 berth Maui campervans, but I was so glad that we only had this camper for three days.
We left Cairns fairly early as we had a lot of driving to do over the next couple of days. We drove as far south as we could and stopped off at several lay-bys for a rest. At one stop, there was a lady selling bags of lychees. We bought a 1kg bag and they were so sweet and fresh! Perfect for a car snack!
We stopped driving quit late at night and managed t find a little area to stop in for free to spend the night. We ate some of the tuna pasta we had made last night for dinner but with no fridge, I can’t see the pasta lasting till tomorrow. We’ll see!
