The beds at Parawana hostel are so comfy. I’ve just had one of the best night’s sleep since I’ve been away! After breakfast, we headed to the tourist office as we had heard about a 10 day tourist ticket for the city. We found out that you could buy this ticket which enabled you to visit a number of museums and historical sites in and around the city for about £10 and you had up to 10 days to use the ticket. This sounded perfect as Tom was only going to be with us for 10 days including the 4 days for the Inca Trail. So we purchased the ticket and visited a few of the museums. We decided to still take it easy as Tom had come down with a massive headache yesterday and his head was still throbbing a little.
In the evening we went to a culture show (as part of our 10 day tourist ticket). Performances included a lot of dancing to traditional music and the dancers were wearing very traditional clothing. It was a good show but I think we were all feeling a little tired after walking around all day. We went for a drink in a bar in the main square afterwards and then headed back to the hostel.
Oh yeah, in terms of effects of altitude, me and John are now fine so fingers crossed we’ll be okay for the Inca Trail!
